Cocinaré KissCup Astro Boy coffee tasting cupA ceramic tasting cup in a sealed box, with art that wakes up in hot coffee.
This anime coffee mug is really a tasting cup: a ceramic Cocinaré cup with Astro Boy artwork, sold sealed in a blind box so you do not know which of the 9 designs you will get. Hot coffee wakes a heat-sensitive print on the back. It suits espresso drinkers who sip slowly and collectors chasing the full Astro Boy series.
- Ceramic cup for espresso and lungo
- Heat-reveal art on the back
- Sealed box, 9 designs to find
- One hidden edition in the series
What you get when you open one
Each sealed box holds one ceramic tasting cup, and the design stays a secret until you open it. The series runs to 9 designs: 5 standard, 3 special and 1 hidden edition, the rarest of the set.
The one catch: if you want a single artwork, it may take a few boxes or a trade.
Cocinaré uses the same format for other themes, such as the Cocinaré glass coffee tasting cup blind box.
Three reasons to pour into it
Shaped for tasting
Cocinaré drew the curve to gather aroma toward your nose as you sip, which suits espresso, lungo and coffee cupping.
Art that needs heat
Fill it with hot coffee and the back of the cup changes color to bring out its Astro Boy artwork.
Retro anime style
Space themes and vintage comic strips, featuring Astro Boy and Uran.

The details
Is it the right cup for you
Pick it up if
- You grew up with Astro Boy or collect retro anime pieces
- You drink espresso and like a dedicated tasting cup
Look elsewhere if
- You need one exact design, since every box is random
- You want a large handmade mug, like this Jingdezhen stoneware coffee cup
Before you open the box
Can I choose which Astro Boy design I get?
No. Every box is sealed and the cup inside is random, from a series of 9 designs. Buying the whole box of 9 gives you more chances at once.
Is this anime coffee mug good for lattes?
It is not the best match. It is a tasting cup meant for espresso, lungo and cupping. For milk drinks, the IKAPE ceramic cup and saucer gives the latte more room.
How does the color change work?
Heat triggers it. A heat-sensitive print on the back responds to hot liquid and brings out the artwork, so cold drinks will not show the effect.
Can it go in the dishwasher?
The listing does not say. Hand washing in warm water is the safe choice for a printed cup.
