La Marzocco Leva X Commercial Lever Espresso Machine, Pressure Display
Guaranteed Safe Checkout
La Marzocco Leva XA commercial lever espresso machine that graphs every shot while you pull it.
The Leva X is La Marzocco's commercial lever espresso machine for specialty cafés, built in 1, 2 and 3 group sizes. Every group has its own 1.3 L (44 oz) coffee boiler and its own screen that plots pre-infusion pressure, extraction pressure and time as the shot runs. The redesigned lever takes 40% less effort than other lever machines, by La Marzocco's measure, which adds up over a full shift of pulls.
- Live pressure graph per group
- A boiler for every group
- 40% less lever effort
- Tall cup clearance
How a shot runs on the Leva X
-
Pull
Bring the lever down. Water enters the group and pre-infusion begins, for as long as you choose.
-
Release
Let the lever rise and the spring drives water through the puck. Spring pre-load is adjustable.
-
Watch
The display draws pre-infusion pressure, extraction pressure and time, live.
-
Compare
The curve stays on screen after the shot. Save up to four graphs per group.
That is the point of the La Marzocco lever. Pressure profiling by hand has always depended on feel; the Leva X turns that feel into a curve a second barista can read and repeat. Water volume is adjustable too, so a lever bar can still hold a recipe from one shift to the next.
Lever bar or pump bar
The Leva X fits if
- Espresso is the show. The low body and exposed groups keep the barista in view of the customer.
- You pour more than one coffee and want each group at its own temperature.
- Your baristas want to shape pre-infusion and pressure by hand, with a graph to check the result.
Look at a pump machine if
- You need one-button volumetric shots for a line of new staff. The La Marzocco Linea Classic S in AV does that.
- A shelf or hood hangs low over the bar. The levers bring the height to 77.5 cm (30.5 in).
One, two or three groups
Small bar or tasting counter
One lever, one boiler, a single station for a focused menu.
Two baristas side by side
Two coffees at two temperatures, or two people on one recipe.
A full lever bar
Three stations and the largest steam boiler for milk-heavy peaks.
Every size is 77.5 cm (30.5 in) tall and 64.5 cm (25.5 in) deep. Group count also sets the electrical draw, from 2,300 W on 1 group to 7,800 W on 3 groups, so confirm the build on your order before the counter and circuit are planned.
Plumbing and power come first
The Leva X has no water tank. La Marzocco's manual connects it to the drinking water supply through a filter or softener with braided hoses, runs a drain hose from the left side of the machine, and powers an external pump motor that the machine switches on when it needs water.
Book a plumber and an electrician. La Marzocco requires the installation to meet federal, state and local electrical and plumbing codes. Read the electrical rating on the machine's plate and wire the circuit to it before the Leva X goes on the counter.
The numbers
Answered plainly
Is a lever espresso machine worth it in a café?
It is when espresso is the reason people come in. The Leva X hands the barista direct control of pre-infusion and pressure, shows the curve for every shot, and keeps the barista facing the customer. For pure speed with new staff, a volumetric pump machine is simpler.
Can each group brew a different coffee?
Yes. Every group has its own coffee boiler, so one group can sit at a light roast's temperature and the next at a darker blend's.
How tiring is the lever over a long shift?
Less than older lever designs. La Marzocco rates the redesigned lever at 40% less effort than other lever machines, and the steam wands stay cool to the touch.
Will to-go cups fit under the groups?
Yes. La Marzocco lists tall cup clearance for to-go cups on the Leva X.
