HARIO Alpha Series Pour Over Coffee Dripper
Guaranteed Safe Checkout
Ceramic pour over dripper, size 02Spiral ribs, 60 degree cone, 2 to 4 cups. Tritan 01 and matching gear in the same listing.
The Alpha series cone dripper. The ceramic 02 holds heat through the brew and takes standard 02 cone papers for 2 to 4 cups. The Tritan 01 versions are the light, clear single-cup option in four colors. Both use a concave spiral rib layout that keeps the paper off the wall so water drains evenly instead of channeling.
- Fits 02 cone papers
- Ceramic holds heat
- Spiral ribs, even drawdown
- Starter papers included
What is in this listing
Ceramic, size 02, 2 to 4 cups
The one to buy if you brew for more than yourself. Preheat it with a rinse of hot water and it holds the slurry temperature through a three minute pour. Heavier, chip-resistant glaze, sits on a server or a mug. The standard 01 groove cup is the same idea one size down, 1 to 2 cups.
Tritan, size 01, 1 to 2 cups
Clear, translucent, amber or dark green. Tritan is shatter-resistant and light, so this is the travel and office dripper. You can watch the bed and the drawdown through the wall. Takes 01 cone papers.
Rechargeable scale and 400 ml mug
The scale in tech silver or night dark charges over USB and is there for dosing and timing the pour. The 400 ml round mug matches the drippers. Both are separate items in the same selector, not bundles.
A 02 recipe that works first time
-
Dose and rinse
30 g of coffee ground medium-fine, a 02 paper rinsed with hot water to seat it and warm the ceramic. Discard the rinse water.
-
Bloom
60 g of water at 93 to 96°C, poured in a slow spiral from the center. Wait 40 seconds while the bed swells and releases gas.
-
Pour to 500 g
Two or three more spiral pours up to 500 g total, keeping the bed level. Total time around three minutes. If it runs slower, grind coarser next time.
The numbers
Answered plainly
Which size should I buy, 01 or 02?
One cup at a time, 01. Two mugs or a server for the table, 02. The 02 also brews a single cup fine with a smaller dose, the 01 cannot go the other way.
Which paper filters fit?
Standard cone papers marked 01 or 02, the same ones sold for any 60 degree cone dripper. A starter pack ships with each dripper.
Ceramic or Tritan?
Ceramic for the kitchen counter and for heat stability across a bigger brew. Tritan for travel, for a shared office, and for anyone who wants to see the bed while pouring.
