A stainless steel screen that rests on your puckWater lands evenly, and the shower screen stays free of grounds.
The IKAPE espresso puck screen is a slim food-grade stainless steel disc that rests on tamped coffee while the shot runs. Three widths are offered: 51mm (2.01 in), 53.3mm (2.1 in) and 58.35mm (2.3 in). Home baristas who keep scraping wet grounds off the shower screen after every shot are the people it was made for.
- Spreads water across the puck
- Keeps grounds off the shower screen
- Food-grade stainless steel
- Three basket diameters

Match the screen to your basket

Not sure which one you own? Lay a ruler over the top of your empty basket, read the width, and order the closest disc.
Brewing with and without the screen
Coffee straight under the group head
- Water hits the bed wherever the shower screen sends it
- Wet grounds cling to the machine after each shot
Screen laid on the puck
- Water spreads over the steel before it reaches the coffee
- Grounds stay below the screen, off the machine
It eases the uneven flow behind channeling. Grind and tamp still decide the shot.

Short answers
What does an espresso puck screen do?
It spreads incoming water across the coffee and keeps grounds away from the group head, so you get a more even soak and less scrubbing.
Which size fits my portafilter?
Pair the disc with your basket diameter. A 51mm (2 in) basket calls for the 51mm (2 in) disc, a 53 or 54mm basket calls for the 53.3mm one, and a 58mm (2.3 in) basket calls for the 58.35mm one. For a matched set, the magnetic dosing funnel is sold in 51, 54 and 58mm versions.
Does the screen go under or over the coffee?
Over it. Tamp first, then set the disc on the puck so it sits between the coffee and the shower screen.
Can I pair it with a new filter basket?
Yes, when the widths agree. Replacing a worn basket too? Compare our precision filter basket with the disc you order.
Who gets the most from it
A good pick if you
- Clean coffee off the shower screen after every shot
- Already distribute and tamp, and want one more prep step
- Like a steel part you rinse and keep
Skip it if you
- Dose to the brim, since the disc needs a little headroom above the puck
Top the puck, then pull the shot
