Grinder built in

One machine for the grind and the shotPut beans in, get espresso out, and keep your counter space.

The Barsetto BAE-03 is a semi-automatic espresso machine with grinder and brew head in one body, so fresh grounds drop from the burrs directly into your portafilter. This third-generation design has a flat burr grinder and comes in Graphite Black or Off-White. Home baristas who like to dial in espresso by hand, without buying and housing a separate grinder, will find it a good fit.

  • Flat burr grinder built in
  • Semi-automatic, you steer the shot
  • One footprint on the counter
  • Graphite Black or Off-White

The real question

Separate grinder or built in?

Two machines side by side

  • A grinder and a brewer competing for the same stretch of counter
  • Grounds carried from one unit to the other, with a trail of spills
  • Two appliances to wipe down when you finish

Grinder inside the machine

  • Grinding and brewing happen at one station
  • Less mess between the burrs and the basket
  • One appliance to place and clean around

Already own a grinder you love? A brewer without one may suit you better. The fair read further down covers that.

Why fresh grinding matters

Good espresso starts at the burrs

Once air reaches ground coffee, its aroma fades fast. Pre-ground coffee from a bag is usually past its best by the time it sits in your pantry, and espresso shows this more than any other brew. You taste it as thin body, pale crema and a hollow or sour finish.

Grinding right before each shot solves the problem. With the grinder living inside the machine, you grind only what one drink needs, lock the portafilter in and brew while the aromatics are still in the cup.

A flat burr grinder cuts beans between two parallel rings. It is the style you see on many café grinders, chosen for an even particle size that helps water pass through the puck at a steady rate.

Semi-automatic, not push-button

You grind, dose, tamp and start the shot yourself, and the machine does the brewing. That leaves room to adjust grind and dose until a coffee tastes right, which is the part most home baristas enjoy.

Barsetto espresso machine BAE-03 how to use
Your morning

From whole bean to espresso

  1. Load fresh beans

Choose whole beans roasted for espresso. Add only what you will use over a few days and keep the rest sealed in its bag.

  2. Grind into the portafilter

Grind one dose. Begin near the middle of the grind range and move a single step at a time while you learn your beans.

  3. Level and tamp

Tap the basket to settle the grounds, then tamp flat and firm. An even bed keeps water from tunneling through one weak spot.

  4. Pull and taste

Lock in, start the shot and watch the flow. Fast and sour means grind finer. Slow and bitter means grind coarser.

Questions buyers ask

Before you choose

Is the Barsetto an espresso machine with grinder built in?

Yes. The grinder sits inside the machine body, so you grind and brew at one station. It uses flat burrs, the parallel-ring style found on many café grinders.

Is it fully automatic?

No, it is semi-automatic. You dose, tamp and start every shot, which keeps the result in your hands. For another machine that pairs brewing with a grinder, look at the Care for Cafes machine with built-in grinder.

Which colors can I choose?

Two: Graphite Black and Off-White. Choose yours with the selector above.

Is it a good first espresso setup?

Yes, if you want to learn. A built-in grinder removes one purchase and one setup step. Expect a few practice shots while you dial in. If you are equipping a busier bar, the WENDOUGEE machine and grinder set splits the two jobs across separate units.
