Your first V60 in four steps

Grind
Fill the Smart G and crank to a medium-fine grind, close to table salt. Grind right before you brew.

Rinse
Set a paper filter in the V60 on top of the server, wet it with hot water, then pour that water away.

Bloom
Add the grounds, pour just enough water to wet them, and wait while they swell and release gas.

Pour
Pour the rest in slow circles. The spiral ribs and open cone let your pour speed set the cup: faster is lighter, slower is deeper.
When hand grinding gets old
You do not have to replace the grinder to stop cranking it. HARIO's Mobile Mill Stick is a rechargeable motor made to drive the Smart G mill. The stick-only version of our HARIO Smart G portable coffee grinder seats on the mill with its MSG-2 adapter and turns the crank into a button, with about 25 grinds per charge.
The frother is for milk, not espresso
It whips milk into foam to top a pour over, café au lait style. It does not brew espresso, and it runs on batteries you supply.

Is the grinder in this set electric?
No. The Smart G in this set is a hand grinder with ceramic burrs. You can add a motor later with HARIO's Mobile Mill Stick, sold as the stick-only version of our Smart G portable grinder.
Is a pour over coffee kit worth it for a beginner?
Yes, if you like a clean, bright cup and can spare a few minutes of attention. A V60 needs no power, takes almost no room, and shows you exactly how grind and pour change the taste. This kit adds the grinder, the piece that matters most for flavor.
What filters does the V60 02 take?
Size 02 cone filters. The 02 dripper brews one to four cups; size 01 papers are too small for it.
Does it work as a coffee gift set?
