The EVEBOT Smart is a handheld edible printer that prints photos, logos and text straight onto food: latte foam, cakes, cookies, macarons, bread and pastries. It covers an area up to 5 x 10 cm (2 x 3.9 in) at 300 dpi, and a built-in camera shows the surface on a 5-inch touchscreen, so you place the image before any ink goes down. How a print goes on the EVEBOT Smart

Load the design
Scan the QR code on the printer with your phone and send a photo, logo or message over Wi-Fi, or load it by USB. EVEBOT also includes a free design library with no subscription.

Frame it
Hold the printer over the cup or the cake. The camera shows the surface live on the 5-inch touchscreen, and you move and size the image there.

Print
Press print and the head lays down the image at 300 dpi, up to 5 x 10 cm.

Serve
Hand the latte or the box of cookies over right away. EVEBOT describes the ink as odorless, with no effect on flavor.
Drinks and bakes, as long as the top is smooth
On coffee
Lattes, cappuccinos and other drinks with a layer of milk foam. Dense, fine microfoam gives the sharpest print, so steam the milk in a small milk frothing pitcher and let the foam settle for a moment before you print.
On food
Cakes, cookies, macarons, bread, pastries and selected desserts. EVEBOT asks for a relatively smooth surface, so a frosted cake or a flat cookie top prints cleaner than a crumbly or deeply textured one.
One ink or a full set
Every bundle is the same printer. You are choosing which edible ink cartridges come with it.
One signature color
Brown reads like cocoa on milk foam and is the usual latte choice. Black gives the sharpest text and logos on light icing. Red suits hearts and celebration cakes, Matcha green suits matcha drinks and spring menus.
Change color by the order
For a café or bakery that prints on drinks and on bakes, or runs seasonal designs. Swap cartridges between orders instead of waiting on a reorder.
What one cartridge covers
Refills are EVEBOT's STB1 cartridge. The Smart takes the STB1 cartridge made for it. The EVEBOT PrintPen cartridge in our store is the PB1 model, which EVEBOT lists for the PrintPen, so do not order it as a refill for this printer.

What can the EVEBOT Smart print on?
Smooth food and drink surfaces: coffee foam, cakes, cookies, macarons, bread, pastries and selected desserts. It prints directly on the food, so there are no frosting sheets to cut and place.
Do I need an app to use it?
No. You scan the printer's QR code with your phone to send an image over Wi-Fi, or load it by USB, and run everything else on the touchscreen. The design library that comes with it has no subscription fee.
How many prints does one cartridge give?
About 3,000 at a 5 x 5 cm design, by EVEBOT's rating. Full 5 x 10 cm prints and dense artwork use more ink per print, small logos and short messages use less.
Does the ink change the taste?
No, by EVEBOT's description: the edible ink is odorless and does not change the flavor. EVEBOT also lists it as halal and gluten-free.
Is it for a café or for home?
Both. It is battery powered and weighs 883 g (1.9 lb), so it moves between the espresso bar, the pastry counter and an event table. At home it pays off if you decorate cakes or cookies often.
