The Dedica Duo takes a 51 mm portafilter. Tampers, leveling tools and baskets made for 58 mm machines will not fit, so buy any extra tools in 51 mm. The machine comes with a portafilter, a tamper, a measuring scoop and single and double baskets, so you can start without extras.

Is the Dedica Duo cold brew real cold brew?
It is De'Longhi's fast version of it. Cold Extraction Technology brews a cold coffee in under five minutes instead of steeping grounds overnight, and De'Longhi describes the result as refreshing with a delicate sweetness. Drink it straight or over ice.
Is the Dedica Duo worth it as a first espresso machine?
Yes, if you want to learn the craft. The pressurized baskets forgive an uneven grind while you start, and the unpressurized baskets are there once you own a good burr grinder. The preset buttons stop each shot for you.
Do I need a grinder?
You need ground coffee. Pre-ground espresso works well in the pressurized baskets. For the unpressurized baskets, fresh coffee from a burr grinder set fine for espresso gives better shots.
How do I steam milk with the My LatteArt wand?
By hand. Purge the wand, sink the tip just under the surface of cold milk, let it draw air until the milk has grown by about a third, then push it deeper to heat. The cool-touch wand wipes clean after each drink. A small milk frothing pitcher is the right size for one or two drinks.
Is the machine different in Pink, Blue and White?
No. Pink, Blue and White are the same Dedica Duo EC890; only the finish changes.
