La Marzocco Linea Classic S Commercial Espresso Machine, 2 or 3 Group
Guaranteed Safe Checkout
La Marzocco Linea Classic SA dual boiler commercial espresso machine for cafés that pull shots all day.
The Linea Classic S is La Marzocco's dual boiler commercial espresso machine for cafés and espresso bars, offered here as an AV 2 Group, an EE 2 Group and an AV 3 Group. Separate coffee and steam boilers (3.4 L and 7 L on the 2 group, 5 L and 11 L on the 3 group), saturated groups and dual PID hold brew temperature steady through a rush. It is a plumbed machine: plan a filtered water line, a drain and a 220V supply before the first shot.

Two groups or three, AV or EE
Count the baristas who pull espresso at the same moment in your busiest hour; each group is one station. Two on bar is a 2 group job, a third points to the 3 group and its bigger boilers. Then choose how each shot ends: AV stops it at a programmed volume, EE leaves the stop to the barista.
Programmed shots, two stations
Press a button and the shot ends at the volume you set, so the recipe holds when the shift changes.
Hand-stopped shots, two stations
Press to start, press to stop. The barista ends every shot by eye, by timer or on a scale.
A third station for volume
Three baristas at once, larger boilers behind them, programmed volumes on every group.
All three builds stand 44.5 cm (17.5 in) tall and 58.5 cm (23 in) deep. The 3 group is listed in AV only.
What AV and EE mean on the bar
AV, automatic volumetric
Each group button holds a programmed water volume. Lock in the portafilter, press the button and turn to the milk; the machine ends the shot at the set volume. You program group 1 once and the other groups copy it.
EE, semi-automatic
The same button starts the pump and stops it. Nothing is metered, so the barista decides when the shot is done. It suits a bar that weighs every shot or changes recipes through the day.
Both versions share the boilers, saturated groups and dual PID; only the shot control differs. Even dosing matters as much as the button, and a La Marzocco precision distribution tool levels the bed before you tamp.
What the install takes
-
Filtered water line
La Marzocco's US install guide lists a water filter as required and not included, on a supply of 45 to 80 PSI.
-
External pump
The filtered line feeds the pump, and the pump feeds the machine. Give the pump a spot within reach of both lines.
-
Sloped drain
A 3/4 in flexible drain line falling at least 0.25 in per foot to a floor drain. Lines pass through a 2.5 in (6.4 cm) hole in the counter.
-
Matched power
La Marzocco's guide sets its own amp rating and receptacle for each group count, so the electrician wires for the exact build you order.
This unit is 220V single phase. It will not run from a standard US wall outlet, and a plug adapter changes the plug shape, not the voltage. At 3,350 to 7,790 W a step-up converter is not a practical answer, so have an electrician install a 220V receptacle that matches La Marzocco's amp rating before the machine arrives.
The numbers
Answered plainly
Can a 2 group keep up with a busy café?
Yes, if two baristas cover your espresso peak. Group count sets how many shots run at once, and the 3.4 L coffee and 7 L steam boilers are sized for two groups working together. A third barista at peak is the case for the AV 3 Group.
Can it run from a wall outlet or a water tank?
No to both. This listing is the 220V single phase build, and the Linea Classic S draws from a filtered supply line through an external pump and empties into a drain. Budget for a plumber and an electrician along with the machine.
Is the AV version hard to program?
No. You program group 1 with a cup on a gram scale, following La Marzocco's quick start guide, and those volumes copy to the remaining groups on their own. A 3 group takes no longer to set than a 2 group.
Linea Classic S or Leva X?
Choose the Linea for speed and repeatable button shots across a long line of drinks. The La Marzocco Leva X is the lever machine for bars that profile pressure by hand and put the barista on show.
