Seat the portafilter

Is an espresso tamping station worth it?
Yes, if your tamps come out uneven. On a counter edge the spout tilts the basket; the station holds it level and frees both hands, so every tamp starts from the same flat position.
Will my portafilter fit?
If it is 51, 53, 54 or 58mm, spouted or bottomless, it should seat. Portafilters with two side ears, such as De'Longhi's two-ear design, are the ones to check first.
How do I clean it?
Brush out stray grounds and wipe it with a damp cloth, then dry it. Keep the silicone ring free of grounds so the next portafilter sits level.
