A hands-on home espresso machine with a nested boilerSet the heat, watch both needles, pull the shot yourself.
The LELIT Mara X is a semi-automatic home espresso machine with one group head, a dual nested boiler and a vibration pump that draws from a 2500 ml (84.5 oz) water tank. A dual temperature control system and two pressure gauges let you pick how hot you brew and how hard you steam. It is made for people who grind, dose and tamp every shot and want proper milk drinks at home.
- Dual nested boiler
- Two gauges, brew and steam
- Large tank, no plumbing
- Three steam pressure settings

What sits behind the panels
One body, two jobs, separate control
Inside the casing sits a dual nested boiler. It feeds both the group head and the steam wand, and a dual temperature control system lets you tune each side instead of living with one fixed setting.
A vibration pump pushes water from the tank through the coffee. There is no water line to install: fill the 2500 ml (84.5 oz) tank, switch on and wait for the needles to settle.
Two pressure gauges sit on the front panel. One tells you what the boiler is doing for steam, the other shows what happens during extraction, so a sour or rushed shot is something you can see and correct on the next pull.
Match the machine to your roast and your milk
High brew heat, softest steam
Extraction temperature is set to high, and steam pressure runs between 0.9 and 1.2 bar.
- Gentler steam for a small pitcher
- A sensible place to start learning
Medium-high heat, middle steam
Extraction temperature drops to medium-high, while steam pressure climbs to 1.1 to 1.4 bar.
- Balanced for daily cappuccinos
- A good middle ground to compare against
Very hot, strongest steam
The hottest extraction setting, paired with steam pressure of 1.3 to 1.6 bar.
- The most steam power on offer
- Useful when you texture milk for two cups in a row

Measure the spot before it arrives
At 35 cm (13.8 in) tall with a 22 by 41 cm (8.7 by 16.1 in) base, the machine weighs 18.8 kg (41.4 lb). Measure the clearance above your counter and make sure the surface can hold that weight, since this isn't something you'll want to relocate often.
Electrical details come first. We confirm the electrical rating of each variant with you before you pay. Send us a message with your color choice and we will check it against your home outlets.

Spec sheet

Is it the right machine for your kitchen
You will get along if you
- Want to understand each shot by watching the gauges
- Make lattes and cappuccinos most mornings
- Prefer a tank you refill over a plumbed water line
- Have counter room for a solid, heavy machine
Consider another option if you
- Want fully independent brew and steam boilers; the LELIT Bianca V3 dual boiler is built that way
- Would rather skip a separate grinder; the Barsetto BAE-03 with a flat burr grinder puts both in one body
- Need espresso without a wall socket; the IKAPE Alkaid hand crank works by hand
What buyers ask before ordering
Is this a good home espresso machine for a beginner?
Definitely, provided you're keen to master the skill. This semi-automatic home espresso machine manages heat and pressure on its own, leaving grinding, dosing and tamping to you. Its two gauges reveal the effect of each adjustment, helping you progress faster.
What kind of boiler does it use?
A dual nested boiler. It serves both brewing and steaming, and a dual temperature control system lets you adjust them.
Does it need a water line?
No. It runs from a 2500 ml (84.5 oz) water tank, and a vibration pump moves the water through the group head.
How much space does it take up?
Plan for a footprint of 22 by 41 cm (8.7 by 16.1 in) and a height of 35 cm (13.8 in). At 18.8 kg (41.4 lb), it is best placed where it can stay.
