How it brews

Grinder, kettle and pour in one tall body

Brewing pour-over by hand asks for a lot of gear: a grinder, a gooseneck kettle, a timer and a steady wrist. This machine folds the grinding and the pouring into one countertop unit. You load beans, choose your settings and step away while it works, then come back to a clean, bright filter cup.

The grinder runs at 60 to 120 RPM, with 120 RPM as the default. Its 80 grind steps give you room to go finer or coarser with each new bag until the cup tastes the way you want it.

At the heater, water can be set anywhere from 40 to 100°C (104 to 212°F). That gives you hot filter coffee at the top of the range and gentler settings below it when a coffee calls for them.

Tank or water line

For daily brewing the 946 ml (32 oz) tank does the job. The machine also supports an external water inlet, so a busy kitchen or small office can feed it from a separate water supply instead of refilling by hand.

Controls on the side

Three black knobs and a small digital display sit on a side panel, so the front stays clear for the cone and your cup.

A swing arm for the cone

The brewing cone rides on an arm that swings out from the black column, which makes loading and rinsing easier.

Blue with black accents

A tall blue body paired with a black filter holder, black drip tray and black column. It reads as a design piece on an open shelf.

Also compare the xBloom Studio coffee machine with grinder listing before you choose.

Dial in one bag at a time

With so many grind steps, small moves matter. When you open a new bag, change the grind a little between brews and taste each cup. A sour, thin cup usually wants a finer grind, and a bitter, heavy one wants a coarser grind.

A fair read

Is it the right brewer for you

A strong match if

  • You drink filter coffee every day and want the grind and pour done for you
  • You change beans often and like 80 grind steps to tune each one
  • Your counter is shallow, since it needs only 204 mm (8 in) of depth
  • You would like to run it from an external water supply

Look elsewhere if

  • You want espresso, milk drinks or steamed milk, since this machine brews pour-over
  • You enjoy pouring by hand with your own kettle and cone
Buyer questions

What people ask before buying

Does the xBloom Studio grind the beans itself?

Yes. The xBloom Studio has a built-in grinder with 80 grind steps that runs at 60 to 120 RPM, set to 120 RPM by default, so you can start every brew from whole beans.

Can it make espresso?

No. This is an automatic pour-over brewer made for filter-style coffee, and it does not work as a pump espresso machine. For espresso and milk drinks, look at the De'Longhi Magnifica S, which was designed for exactly that.

What is the water tank's capacity?

The tank holds 946 ml (32 oz). For heavier use the machine supports an external water inlet, so it can draw from a separate supply instead.

What amount of counter space should I set aside for it?

Plan for 170 mm (6.7 in) of width and 204 mm (8 in) of depth, plus 426 mm (16.8 in) of height. Measure the gap under your wall cabinets, and leave room for the arm to swing out.

How hot does the water get?

You can set the water from 40 to 100°C (104 to 212°F) at the heater, which covers hot filter coffee and lower settings for gentler brews.
