MHW-3BOMBER S7 manual espresso makerYour arm sets the pressure, and the gauge shows you the reading.
The MHW-3BOMBER manual espresso maker is a hand-operated lever press. As you pull the lever, a built-in pressure gauge shows in real time what your pull is doing to the puck. You can get it as a Basic Version or as a Deluxe set that includes a rolling suitcase, and it is made for home baristas who prefer to control every shot themselves instead of pushing a button and waiting.
- Live pressure readout on every pull
- Hand-operated lever, full control
- Basic or Deluxe set with suitcase
- Made for straight espresso shots

Pressure you can see, from a lever you control
A pump machine decides the pressure for you. A lever espresso machine hands that job to you. On this press, all the force comes from your arm on the lever, and the gauge turns that force into a reading you can follow while the coffee flows.
That reading is the whole point. Without it, a manual press is guesswork: a shot runs fast or chokes, and you cannot tell which part of the pull went wrong. With the needle in view, you can start gently to wet the puck, build up steadily, and ease off as the shot thins. Pull the same way the next morning and you can repeat a shot you liked.
The gauge also makes dialing in the grind less of a mystery. If the needle barely moves, your grind is too coarse. If it climbs hard and the cup stays dry, go coarser. A few shots will show you which way to turn the grinder.

Pulling a shot, one stage at a time
-
Heat everything first
Before you dose, flush the brew chamber and portafilter with hot water. A cold metal surface draws heat away from the coffee, and the shot turns out sour.
-
Grind fine and dose evenly
Use a fine espresso grind, spread it level in the basket and tamp flat so water cannot channel down one side.
-
Lock in and start soft
Seat the portafilter, then lower the lever gently. Let the needle rise slowly while the puck soaks through.
-
Build and hold
Bring the pressure up with a steady arm and keep the needle where your last good shot ran. Watch the cup as closely as the gauge.
-
Ease off and take notes
Let the pressure taper as the stream turns pale. Jot down your dose and how the needle moved, so tomorrow starts from a shot that worked.
Watch how it works
- Installing the lever and drip tray
- Preheating the machine and accessories
- Preparing and extracting the espresso
- Cleaning the brewing head and tray

Plan for the grinder as well
A lever press can only work with what the grinder gives it. Pre-ground supermarket coffee is usually too coarse for espresso and runs straight through, and the gauge will show it. Pair this press with a grinder that goes fine enough for espresso before your first bag of beans.
Who this press suits
A good fit if you
- Want a home espresso machine that shows its pressure on every shot
- Enjoy a hands-on morning more than a one-touch one
- Drink straight espresso, or already froth milk separately
- Need a kit you can roll to another room, with the Deluxe set
Look elsewhere if you
- Want a steam wand on the same machine; the Barsetto Mini espresso machine has one built in
- Prefer a small hand tool for a backpack; a hand pump portable espresso maker packs down smaller
The details
Answered plainly
Is a manual espresso maker hard to use?
Not once you have pulled a handful of shots. The learning is in the grind and the pull, and the pressure gauge shortens it, because you can see whether a bad shot came from the grind or from your arm. Give yourself a few mornings of small adjustments.
What is the difference between the Basic Version and the Deluxe Edition?
The Deluxe Edition is a set that includes a rolling suitcase for carrying and storing the press. The Basic Version is listed as bare metal, the press without that set. If you want the full contents of the Deluxe set before ordering, ask us and we will check them for you.
How does it compare with the IKAPE Alkaid?
Both are hand-powered and both carry a pressure gauge. The IKAPE Alkaid manual espresso machine uses a hand crank, while this press uses a lever pull. Pick the motion that feels more natural to you, since the gauge guides the shot on either one.
Can I make lattes with it?
It pulls the espresso, and the milk is up to you. Make your shot on the press, then add milk frothed with a separate frother or a machine with a steam wand. That keeps your counter setup simple and the press focused on the shot.
