Guaranteed Safe Checkout
An espresso tamper that sets the pressure for youPress until the spring releases, and the tamp is done.
This IKAPE espresso tamper hides a spring impact mechanism in the handle, so every push compresses your coffee bed with a controlled, repeatable force. Choose a 51 mm, 53.3 mm or 58.35 mm base in food-grade stainless steel with a ripple face, under a matte black anodized aluminum handle. It suits home baristas who are tired of guessing how hard to press.
- Repeatable force on each press
- Wide rim sits level on the basket
- Food-grade stainless steel base
- Three base sizes

Handle, spring and ripple face are identical across sizes. Only the base diameter changes.
Why a spring beats your wrist
A hand tamp shifts with your mood, the morning rush and whoever holds the handle. Puck density drifts from shot to shot, and uneven density often leads to channeling.
Here the feedback spring does the measuring. Push down, the mechanism releases its set force, and the bed gets the same compression as last time. The wide rim rests on the basket, keeping the base level when you work fast.
The ripple base
Machined concentric rings give the puck a balanced surface meant to help water spread across the bed.

Check the basket diameter first
Grab calipers or a steel rule and read the inner diameter of the basket you actually brew with. A base that runs small leaves loose grounds circling the edge of the puck, and one that runs large simply will not seat.

The details
Before you choose
What size espresso tamper do I need?
The one that matches the inside of your basket: 51 mm, 53.3 mm or 58.35 mm. Our universal tamping station holds portafilters in that range while you work.
How does a calibrated impact tamper work?
You press until the internal spring releases, and that release sets the force. No judging pressure, so each puck gets similar compression.
Do I still need to prep the grounds?
Yes. A tamper cannot fix clumps, so break them up with an auto-rotating WDT tool and add an espresso puck screen if you want a cleaner group head.
Will coffee get inside the spring?
It is built to keep grounds out of the mechanism and limit static. Wipe the steel face after each shot.
Tamp the same way every morning
